Welcome to the International Academic Competitions Asian & Oceania Division homepage! IAC is a network of over a dozen separate academic competitions, all of which have been founded since 2010. IAC’s staff administers and oversees events in over 60 separate countries, and is deeply committed to the growth and development of academic competition. Age Divisions

All of the competitions are generally divided into 3 to 4 age divisions, which for the 2024-2025 academic year are divided as follows:

Division Ages
Varsity For students born on or before 31 August 2008
Junior Varsity For students born from 1 September 2008 to 31 August 2010
Middle School For students born from 1 September 2010 to 31 August 2012
Elementary For students born on or after 1 September 2012

If a sufficient number of students sign up who are eligible for younger division classifications in any Bee event for the Asian Championships, IAC reserves the right to add additional divisions, for instance, splitting the Elementary Division (for students born after 31 August, 2012) into the Intermediate (for students born from 1 September, 2012 to 31 August, 2014), Elementary School (for students born from 1 September, 2014 to 31 August, 2016, and Beginner Division (for students born after 31 August, 2016).
