International Academic Bowl

International Academic Competitions runs the International Academic Bowl Asian Championships on Friday afternoon at our annual Asian Championships weekend in mid-June at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Khao Lak, Thailand, and also at an online regional-level tournament during the academic year. The Academic Bowl is an all-subject quiz bowl competition for school teams with questions from all academic disciplines, including science, literature, art, music, history, geography, religion, mythology, mathematics, and more. Any school that finishes in the top 50% at the online regional-level tournament or that has students competing in the International Science Bee, International Geography Bee, or International History Bee at the Asian Championships is welcome to field one or more Academic Bowl teams at the Asian Championships. There is no limit to the number of teams that can take part per school, as long as there is at least one student on each team competing in one of the three subject-specific championship competitions.

Solo student teams are welcome to compete; all players on a multi-player team in the Academic Bowl must attend the same school (and the same campus, if the school has multiple campuses).

Please note that the rules and format for the Academic Bowl are the same as the rules for the International History Bowl, though instead of all of the questions being on topics in history, the Academic Bowl also features all academic subjects.

International Academic Bee

International Academic Competitions also runs the International Academic Bee Asian Championships on Friday morning at the annual Asian Championships weekend in mid-June at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Khao Lak, Thailand. This tournament is open to any student who is competing in any other event at the Asian Championships, and does not otherwise require prior qualifying. It uses the same rules as the International Science Bee, International Geography Bee, and the International History Bee.
